Types of Trampolines |
Trampolines are enjoyed globally by adults and children alike. In backyards, gymnasiums and schools trampolines that can be seen in various sizes, colour schemes and shapes. There are numerous types of trampolines that are available with each one having its own defining features.
Competitive Trampolines
The sturdiest and most durable of the different types of trampolines are competitive trampolines, which are mostly used by athletes. They are extremely light and can be transported without any hassle as they have a steel frame that can be folded so it can be transported to competitions and sporting events. The standard size is 14 feet by 7 feet, with the frame having roughly 110 steel springs supporting a unique fabric that is woven from webbing. The consequence of this is that the person jumping on the trampoline can bounce higher and perform more stunts. Athletes also use competitive trampolines for cross training sports such as skiing, diving, snowboarding and wrestling.
Recreational Trampolines
The recreational trampoline is the most common of all the types of trampolines and is available in various sizes that range from small sizes designed for one person to large sized trampolines that can accommodate a number of people. The shapes of recreational trampolines include rectangular, square, octagonal and circular. These trampolines are designed with fewer springs than a competitive trampoline. Waterproof canvas is used in recreational trampolines instead of special woven fabric. Recreational trampolines are marketed by gyms as an enjoyable alternative to traditional exercising and schools use them for physical education. Often parents purchase a recreational trampoline so that the entire family can exercise while having fun at the same time
Mini trampolines
Being significantly smaller than traditional trampolines, mini trampolines are unique in their own way. They are ideal for people who live in a small living space such as an apartment. They are beneficial as they can provide you with an efficient cardio workout in a smaller space. Mini trampolines are also far less strenuous on ones knees and joints. The bounce is decreased as the coils don’t propel a person into the air, making it perfect for indoor use.
Water Trampoline
The water trampoline is another style of the recreational trampoline. It has an inflatable tube and generally floats in water. Water Trampolines are marketed primarily for fun; however anyone using them will still get a solid work-out from jumping high into the air without the limitation of space.
All the different kinds of trampolines are unique and beneficial in their own right. They are a superb source of fun as well as exercise!
